EA Sports Cricket 2000
Cricket 2000 is a Sports game, developed by Creative Assembly and published by EA Sports, which was released in 2000. The uniforms and stadiums are nicely done, and in all, the look makes you feel that you're in the game. However, the player faces are the same for any one team. What I mean is that the designers made a texture of the captain's face, and gave the entire team that texture. It isn't a major problem, but it gets annoying that the only way to distinguish one player from another is to look at their numbers. Excellent sound. The crowd noises are well done, and it really is a nice touch to hear them clapping in rythm to the bowler's run up. The bat and ball noises are nice too. It makes you feel that the ball really did come off the bat.
What I liked most, however, was that each team has a different appealing sound - it's nice to hear the 'Howzat' change according to which teams are playing. Commentary is nicely done as well, with the commentators saying something every now and then. It's not perfect, though. They say practically the same thing every time you hit a four. Also, they sometimes say the wrong thing, like, ''Well, down the leg side, it should be a wide.'' when the ball went down the off side. Apart from that, the sound is spot on.
